Series

Overseas

The Overseas is built around two ideas: a steel case that carries a second time zone, and a bracelet system that comes apart by hand. The reference in this collection is 41 mm and 12 mm thick, with a black lacquered dial whose base is satin-finished in a sunburst and whose outer minutes track is finished differently, so the edge of the dial reads darker than its centre. The second time zone is shown by a red-tipped hand rather than a second dial, the day/night state of that zone is printed on the dial, and the date is read from a small counter above six o’clock.

Black sunburst dial straight on in a steel case, with the brand lettering and cross above the centre, a red-tipped hand across the upper half, a small date counter above six o’clock and a steel bracelet below
  • Second time zone A red-tipped hand points to the second zone, with a day/night indication printed alongside it so daylight and darkness are distinguishable.
  • Date Shown by a hand against a small counter above six o’clock rather than through an aperture at three.
  • Case and bracelet 41 mm steel case, 12 mm thick, antimagnetic, water-resistant to 150 m, on an interchangeable steel bracelet with a triple folding clasp.
  • Dial finish Black lacquer over a satin-finished sunburst base, with a separately finished outer minutes track and applied gold markers.

Design notes

What defines the Overseas

Reading two zones from one dial

A dual-time dial answers a question a plain watch cannot: what time it is somewhere else, and whether that somewhere is in daylight. The Overseas does it with a separate red-tipped hand combined with a day/night scale, so the position of the hand alone tells you both. The counter above six o’clock keeps the date out of the way of the hands, which is why the layout stays legible even though three different reads are competing for the same surface.

A bracelet designed to come off

The point of the interchangeable system is that the bracelet, a rubber strap and a leather strap are alternatives rather than extras you buy afterwards, and the change is made by hand without a tool. That matters for a steel travel watch: the same case that wears as a bracelet at a desk can be moved onto rubber for water and onto leather for a dinner. Which straps come with a particular watch, and whether the spare folding clasp is included, is a question for the seller rather than something a photograph settles.

These notes describe the design as it appears in the photographs on this site. Movement, water resistance, weight and material composition are not stated here, because those belong to the specific unit being offered and are confirmed in the conversation before anything is paid.
